PitchWatch sends campsite availability alerts. This page explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR.
Who we are
PitchWatch is the service named on this website. For a privacy request, write from the email address on your Stripe receipt and ask for the privacy contact. Until a postal address is published here, that receipt is the route.
What we collect
- Identity and contact: the name and email you enter at checkout.
- Watch details: the campsite, the dates, and any note you add in Stripe’s fields (party size or pitch type, for example).
- Payment record: the amount, the currency, and a payment reference from Stripe. We do not receive your full card number.
- Messages you send us later about the watch.
We do not ask for your password on Homair, Sandaya, Pitchup, or any campsite.
Why we use it
- To provide the watch you paid for (contract).
- To email you about an opening, a missing detail, or a refund (contract).
- To keep a record of the payment where tax law requires it (legal obligation).
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising networks.
Stripe
Payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe’s own checkout page. Stripe is a separate controller for the card payment. Their privacy notice is at stripe.com/privacy.
How long we keep it
We keep the watch details until the departure date has passed, then for up to 24 months so we can answer a question about that payment. Accounting records may be kept longer where the law requires it. You can ask us to delete the watch details sooner if the trip is cancelled.
Who else sees it
- Stripe, to take the payment.
- An email provider, if we use one to deliver the alert. They act on our instructions.
- A professional adviser or an authority, if the law requires it.
We do not share your dates with the campsite, and we do not pass them to other customers.
Where it is processed
You may be in the UK or the EU. Stripe, and an email provider if we use one, may process data in the UK, the EEA, or a country covered by an adequacy decision or by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or EU standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EEA you can ask to see the personal data we hold, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or receive a copy in a portable form. You can also object to a use based on legitimate interests. The core service relies on contract and, for tax records, on a legal obligation.
You can complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk. In the EU, it is the authority in your country. We aim to reply within one month.
Children
PitchWatch is for adults booking a holiday. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change with it. The terms describe the alert service itself.
